8 Reasons to Use a Ring Design Service

The Cuttings Blog

Ring DesignThere are many reasons why people visit ring makers, be it for a simple reworking of an existing ring, to designing a new ring completely from scratch.

Ring makers and goldsmiths are experienced in jewellery and will know how to bring your vision to life or solve any manner of problems.

Here are just eight of the most popular reasons for using a ring design service, but they are by no means the only reasons – if you have any questions about the service, please do get in touch with us.

1. Change an engagement ring to fit a wedding ring (or vice versa)
Sometimes it occurs that an engagement ring is an awkward shape to fit with a standard wedding band. One option is to have the wedding ring designed bespoke so that the two rings match perfectly. Another option would be to have the engagement ring reworked into something that will fit with the wedding ring of your choice.

2. Enjoy a unique piece of jewellery
Often people decide to visit a ring design service because they want something that’s guaranteed to be unique to them. A designer can work with any ideas you may have and draw up a design that’s completely one of a kind.

3. Rework a ring that’s difficult to resize
If you have a ring that’s significantly too large or small, or the band is delicate and the stones are set in an awkward place, the solution may be to reproduce a similar design using the same metal and stones.

4. Have your dream ring brought to life
We often have a client who knows exactly what they would like in a ring, and want their own design created. Our experienced ring maker will work towards getting the closest they can to your design, while adding their own input wherever appropriate.

5. Create a ring you’ve seen for less
Perhaps you may have seen a ring elsewhere that is over your budget. There are ways around this, and one of these is to have us source the stones and create the ring for you – this is likely to work out less than the ring you’ve seen.

6. A new setting for an old stone
An appealing solution for a family heirloom that is perhaps either outdated or too delicate to wear is to use the stones to create a new ring.

7. A change to the metal
Whether you want to change the colour of the metal, upgrade to something you could not afford before, or switch to something hypo-allergenic, a ring maker will know how to change your ring’s metal.

8. Restore a damaged ring
Sometimes a ring becomes damaged beyond repair, but a ring designer can rescue the stones and recreate the ring’s original style in a new settings.
