How to Clean & Maintain Rolex Watches

A Rolex watch is a huge investment that can be worth thousands of pounds. Many Rolex timepieces increase in value as they age, so it’s hugely important to keep them in as good condition as possible. Alternatively, if you’re not looking to sell for profit but like to wear your watch every day, you may notice dirt quickly build-up, which can cause damage to the way it runs.

Top Tips for Rolex Watch Cleaning

Follow our top tips for Rolex watch cleaning to help ensure your timepiece’s condition is perfect for years to come.

  1. Ensure the crown is tightly screwed down to prevent water from getting into the watch case. Whilst Rolex watches are highly waterproof, a loose crown can cause issues to the watches movement if water gets inside.
  2. Wash the Rolex watch regularly in a bowl with warm, soapy water. Do not use soaps with harsh or strong chemicals as these could damage the watch. Instead, opt for mild, delicate soaps.
  3. Use a soft toothbrush to clean the watch. You can use the toothbrush on its own with the soapy water or you can purchase a cleaning solution. Using a toothbrush will help you to clean in between links.
  4. Ensure all soap is washed away after cleaning and carefully dry the soap with a microfiber cloth to ensure no scratches are made.
