Tips for styling your Rolex watch

When it comes to styling your luxury Rolex watch, there are many considerations. These can include the watch itself, the occasion and the outfit you choose. It can feel very overwhelming and while it may seem the easier option to not think about styling the watch correctly, you would be doing yourself, and your luxury watch, an injustice.

To help you with this process, we have put together some tips for styling your watch for different occasions.

The watch itself

The watch model

Rolex is a watchmaker that has been creating some of the world’s most iconic and brilliantly designed watches for over 100 years. This means that there is a wide range of different watch models for you to choose from. Each model will be fit for a different purpose and you should therefore choose the model of watch accordingly for your event. For example, wearing a watch designed for your businessmen to a family day out at the beach, may not be best appropriate. The watch aesthetics

The watch’s colour, fit and metal are all aesthetic elements which impact how you should style the piece. If you are someone who wears jewellery, you may want to consider the colour of your jewellery’s metal and if it will work well with the watch’s metal colour. Additionally, depending on the size of your wrists, you may also want to consider the size of the watch bracelet as if it’s too thick it may dwarf your wrist, or alternatively it could appear too tight on your wrist and look uncomfortable.

The occasion

Business

Rolex watches are renowned for being a favourite of important businessmen and women. If you are looking to style your Rolex for a business event, whether that be a meeting or interview, then something to consider is what you are wearing and how the watch will look against this outfit. Choosing a classic Rolex watch with a leather strap is probably best as it sits nicely against the cuff of your suit. If you are deciding between a black or brown strap, consider what colour shoes you are most likely to wear and match accordingly.

Party

If you are looking to style your Rolex watch for a party or event, perhaps consider a metal strap watch. The metal sparkle will compliment any jewellery you may wear, as well as looking expensive. Additionally, metal is arguably the most durable of the Rolex watch straps. However, if the event is a wedding or similar, then a softer leather strapped Rolex may be more preferable as it is not quite so harsh.

Casual

Perhaps you are wanting some tips for styling your watch for more casual, everyday outfits. The best advice for this is to simply pick a classic Rolex that doesn’t have too much colour in its design so that it can match almost any outfit. It would also be advisable to pick a watch that is metal based rather than leather. Although all Rolex watches are known for their durability, a metal one is more durable still than the leather strap watches.

The outfit

Colourful outfit

Whatever the occasion, if the outfit you’ve chosen is colourful, has patterns on it or bold in any other way, then one of Rolex’s more understated luxury watches is going to complement this the best.

Plain outfit

When styling a Rolex watch, it’s important to let either the outfit, or the watch shine- not both. If you are opting for a more basic outfit, then perhaps choose a Rolex watch that stands out. This could be a colourful watch, a limited edition watch or one of the newest editions to the Rolex collection. In many ways, Rolex watches don’t need to be dressed up, they are iconic enough on their own.
