The World’s 4 Most Counterfeited Watch Brands

Counterfeit items are a serious problem but none more so than counterfeit watches. They’re extremely widespread and if you ever encounter a vendor trying to sell you a watch brand at a price that seems too good to be true, then it’s probably a fake.

To help you be more vigilant, we’ve put a list together of the four most faked watch brands on the market.

Cartier

The French fashion company has a stellar reputation. The fact someone sells fake version of their watches soils it a little bit. Here you will not find any of the durability or the lavishness you may find normally associated with them.

If you buy a fake Cartier watch, you’ll almost certainly encounter frustration with a watch that will break within minutes of using it.

Rolex

Rolex is probably the best-known brand for watches. It’s also the most highly sought-after, making a very big target for counterfeit merchandise.

If ever you encounter a vendor attempting to sell you a Rolex watch at rock-bottom prices, you can be certain that it is a fake, especially if that vendor is out on the street.

Gucci

Another high-fashion brand, Gucci is another target for fakers due to their mass appeal among the female market. It’s easy for to be taken in by the glittering aesthetic of a Gucci watch, fake or real.

But beware! They are often counterfeited and the more you stay away from untrustworthy vendors, the better.

Omega

Finally, Omega is yet another widely recognised brand among the world market. You see street vendors along the promenades of Venice selling them and all of them are almost certainly fake.

Our advice would be to buy your Omega watch from a recognised Omega store or a trusted jeweller to guarantee the genuineness of each product.
